Hillary Van Gelder is a native of south Texas and moved to Bend in November 2015, where she lives with her husband and daughter. Hillary began playing the acoustic guitar and songwriting at age 12. She graduated from Texas A&M Corpus Christi with a B.A. in music with an emphasis in voice. During her college years, she enjoyed singing in the St. Patrick’s Cathedral on her tour of Ireland with the UTB Master Chorale. After completing her degree and Senior Vocal Recital, she taught music for one year in Texas. Hillary has most recently sung locally with the Central Oregon Mastersingers. The majority of her experience began at 17 when she first began directing church music. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to give voice and guitar lessons, lead a church choir and record her own music. Hillary loves to recognize talent in students of all ages and help form professionalism and a lifelong passion of music!
