Amanda Wrenn
Irish Fiddle and Folk Singing
Amanda Wrenn is dedicated to sharing her passion for Irish fiddle and folk singing with her students. Growing up in Alaska, she began playing the violin in 5th grade, earning first chair in her school orchestra throughout middle and high school. While in high school, she discovered her love for teaching by filling in for her violin instructor, guiding younger students along their musical paths.
Now based in Oregon, Amanda performs with two local bands, The Ballybogs and her duo with Patrick Leonard, where she enjoys singing and playing fiddle in both. She looks forward to inspiring the next generation of musicians at Cascade School of Music and helping them explore their own musical journeys.
In their duo, Amanda Wrenn & Patrick Leonard dive deep into transatlantic musical currents, exploring roots of the US and Celtic diasporas. From the soulful strains of old-time and American Traditionals to the lively rhythms of Irish reels, hornpipes, and more, this pair weaves a sonic journey that spans genres and borders. Their performances, rich with vocal harmonies and instrumental finesse, breathe life into the diverse tapestry of true fold music, captivating audiences with an authentic and memorable experience.
