Voice
Ms. Slade has been singing and performing professionally for the past twenty years. She started performing in her father’s church choir. After performing in a few school productions in middle school, her choir teacher strongly encouraged her parents to get her into vocal lessons so that she could really hone her gift. At the age of fifteen she was competing at state and national Opera competitions such as The Sunriver Music Festival and NATS. After high school, Slade attended Western Oregon University to study Opera performance. One year into her college career another amazing opportunity came up that would involve her moving to and recording in LA with producer Tim Miner.
With two years of recording in a professional studio now under her belt and surviving the starving LA artist experience, Slade returned to her home of Bend Oregon and began building her musical career. Since back in Central Oregon, Ms. Slade has had over 20 bands of all genres, side projects, recording projects, and has now found her love of being in musical theater productions. Her musical stylings range from Opera to heavy metal, rock, pop, musical theater, and pretty much everything else. Her new band Slade and the Hatchet are a great representation of how diverse her musical takes really are. Slade and the Hatchet play anything from Weezer to Heart, David Bowie, No Doubt, Sound Garden and many more. “With a strong vocal foundation, you can sing just about any style of music”, Slade says. “It’s all about the breath.” “I am not here to teach you how to sing. I am here to help you free that inner Rockstar so you can share it with the whole world!”
